Its 18th edition keeps the registration period open until 30 April
After the cancellation of its 2020 edition due to the pandemic, the International Chamber Music Competition returns, which, for more than a decade, has been organised by the Arnuero Town Hall. A competition that was created with the aim of serving as a launch platform for young performers and chamber music groups from different nationalities and, this year, celebrates its eighteenth edition with a refreshed image and a new format adapted to the current health alert situation.
Under the new format of the 18th International Chamber Music Competition of Arnuero, the preliminary classification phase will be carried out by submitting videos by the participating groups so that the Jury, through virtual meetings, can decide which groups will be finalists.
With the aim of enabling the grand final and the opening concert to take place with fewer restrictions, the event date has been moved to 3 and 4 July 2021.
With the safety measures that the health situation may require at the time, the final phase will be in person and will be preceded by the opening concert, which will take place on Saturday 3 July at 8 pm in the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Arnuero and includes the absolute premiere of Antinous by Jesús Torres and Magia Simpática by José Luis Escrivá, works commissioned by the CIMCA, performed by the Valencians Adrià Gràcia Gàlvez (clarinet/“clave”) and Fernando Pascual León (violin).
The Jury for this edition will be chaired by the multi-award-winning composer Jesús Torres and leading music professionals such as the violinist Fernando Pascual León, the pianist and harpsichordist Adrià Gràcia Gàlvez, the composer José Luis Escrivá, and the composer and teacher Ángel Botia Santos.
