The Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition will offer in 2021 an inaugural concert featuring premieres of the works “Antinous” by Jesús Torres and “Magia Simpática” by José Luis Escrivá, performed by Adrià Gràcia Gálvez, harpsichord, and Fernando Pascual, violin.
The concert will serve as the opening event of the 18th edition of the Music Competition and will be held at the Church of the Assumption of Arnuero on Saturday 3 April at 8:00 p.m..
At the end, the running order for the groups’ performances in the grand final will be drawn by lot. This will take place on Sunday 4 July at 6:00 p.m. in the same Arnuero church. The finalist ensembles are: Cuarteto Erasmus, Synthèse Quartet, Trio Strandmon and Trio Nacedo. They will have to perform a complete work, chosen by the Jury, from among those submitted to the competition.
The selection of the finalist chamber ensembles was carried out on this occasion, due to the pandemic situation, via an online procedure, using the recordings made by the participants, which served the Jury to choose those who would come to compete in the grand final in person from a total of 15 groups.
The Jury for the 18th Arnuero International Chamber Music Competition will be chaired by Jesús Torres, a composer of recognized standing, who will present the premiere of his work “Antinous” in this edition. The Jury will include the also highly regarded composer José Luis Escrivá Córdoba, who has also composed the work “Magia Simpática” commissioned for the Competition, as well as Fernando Pascual, violin, Adrià Gràcia Gálvez, harpsichordist, and Ángel Botia Santos, composer and lecturer.
