Natural pools arise from the transformation of the former Isla lobster nurseries, which date back to the 19th century and were initially built for the preservation and consumption of seafood.
For decades, these nurseries played a crucial role in the local economy, but eventually fell into disuse. Despite their abandonment, the structures remained intact, allowing them to be rediscovered and transformed in 2019 for a new purpose.
La first pool is located in the urban area near the forecourt of the Hermitage of Saint Sebastian, while the second is situated on a small islet that closes off the Sable Beach, offering a more natural setting.
These pools not only provide a safe and pleasant place to swim, but also preserve the history and original architecture of the nurseries.
