As work begins on the recently approved Arnuero Tourism Sustainability Plan, the Town Hall continues to place its bets this Holy Week on the pillars of a holiday proposal built around rest, nature and personal wellbeing.
To this end, the Ecoparque de Trasmiera is being put forward as that Vitamin Territory capable of offering an environment that helps you reconnect with nature, local culture and local gastronomy, in a proposal that focuses on activities that make for a very personalised experience, centred on good times of relaxation, physical activity, cultural identity and gastronomy based on products from the land and the Cantabrian Sea.
In this way, the Ecoparque de Trasmiera will offer a proposal for Holy Week holidays where the so-called Ecoparque Experience will take centre stage, with which the aim is to help visitors immerse themselves in a territory whose identity and culture continue to surprise everyone who comes close. With breathtaking nature, featuring icons such as Monte Cincho and its route to the viewpoint over the Cantabrian coastline, the Ría de Castellano with its winding holm-oak wood lining the sands with crystal-clear waters, or the cliffs of Cabo Quejo with their impressive headlands. We also have to add the interesting cultural landscape of the Old Town of Isla and the adjacent fields, as well as the authentic rural landscape in the four towns of Arnuero, Isla, Castillo and Soano. The setting of the Marisma Joyel is also particularly noteworthy, an extraordinary feature within the Santoña, Victoria and Joyel Natural Park’s marshlands, with an itinerary dotted with elements of the cultural heritage, such as the Molino de Santa Olaja and the Casa de Mareas. Of course, the wonderful beaches of Isla are also a highlight: even outside the season they can offer us an attractive stroll in which to dip our feet, and if the weather is kind, even our first nods to the beach ahead of the summer season.

Visit to the Art Observatory, Church of the Asunción de Arnuero: “Tales of stonecutters and bell-ringers, the Trasmiera artists of the Middle Ages”, from Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 April at various times.
Visit to the Molino de Santa Olaja: Want to be a miller for a day? From Thursday 7 to Monday 10 at various times.
