Once again, and this time it’s already 19, we’re going to celebrate the International Chamber Music Competition of Arnuero this weekend. A competition that each year has made and continues to make our municipality of Arnuero “sound a bit more”.

We’ll begin with the inaugural concert this Friday 8 July at the Church of Our Lady of the Assumption in Arnuero at 8 pm, at which the compositions by Mauricio Sotelo and Mario Carro will be premiered. Seating is limited and it’s essential to reserve tickets for this LINK

The Grand Final will be in a unique venue, the House of the Tides in Soano on Sunday 10 July. On this occasion it will be at 6.00 pm and we’ll listen to the finalist groups. It’s also essential to reserve a ticket for this

The winners were:

  • FIRST PRIZE for Ernesto Tubía Landeras (Haro) with the work “The Curious Collection of Gregorio Piloñeta”.
  • SECOND PRIZE for Franciso de Paz Tante (Toledo), with the work: “Chielo of clay”.
  • THIRD PRIZE for Fernando Martínez López (Málaga), with the work: “The man who read Ivan Goncharov”.

In addition, the Jury awarded an honourable mention to Pedro Juan Fulleda Bandera, native of Cuba and resident in Ecuador, with the story “Columbus’s Paradox”.

All of our staff were active on the big day, welcoming visitors as they came aboard the little tourist train, carrying out guided tours of the historic centre and its orchards, manning the Ecoparque stand at the Fair, and taking part in the competition for the best #pimientodeIsla and the raffle of hampers. The leisure-time instructors also played an active role, preparing multiple games and activities for the younger ones.

In the end, a new day of success was completed, during which more than 4,500 people came to make their purchases and enjoy the great atmosphere of the Fair, where many stalls had to close early because they had run out of all the product they had brought to sell.

We’ll continue with the Food Festival Days and next Saturday 21st with the final Fair and summer party on La Arena beach.
