The Ecoparque of Trasmiera will incorporate into its management the property known as Casa de las Mareas in Soano, after the concession was granted by the Ministry for Ecological Transition through the Directorate-General for the Coast and the Sea for a period of 15 years, extendable up to a maximum of 30 years. In this way, once the provisional authorisation for use has ended, the Ecoparque is guaranteed to operate this property in the future and integrate it into the cultural and environmental proposals being carried out in the municipality of Arnuero.
Recently, the Arnuero Town Hall, at the most recent Plenary Session, proceeded to ratify the administrative concession agreement for the management and operation of the Casona de Soano, a building that was refurbished by the Cantabria Coasts Demarcation at the request of, and in accordance with, the project prepared by the Arnuero Town Hall to transform it into an Interpretation Centre for the Marisma de Joyel wetland. After the processing and implementation of the project, in 2016, the building was handed over to the Town Hall for its fitting-out and management, at that time by means of a provisional administrative authorisation while the formal concession was being processed. This file was started in 2022, until a few months ago the Coasts Demarcation informed the Town Hall of its favourable resolution, pending acceptance of it by the Town Hall. Initially, and to speed up the procedures, a resolution of the Mayor’s Office was issued accepting the concession, linked to its subsequent ratification by the Town Hall Plenary; this is why an announcement was published in the BOE on 4 March 2024, by means of which the granting of that concession is made public in accordance with the Ministerial Order of 22 February, with the processing being completed through the agreement of the Plenary of 4 April.
In this way, management of this building has been regularised; it forms an important part of the service network of the Ecoparque of Trasmiera and, in this way, is integrated into municipal management for a period of 15 years, extendable up to a maximum of 30 years.
