Presented the book “Castillo Siete Villas, its traditions and its people”

On 31 March, the presentation of the book “Castillo Siete Villas, its traditions
and its people” took place at the Centro de Tradiciones Salvador Hedilla. With this book, the
collection of old photos of the 4 towns in the municipality is completed, with which it has been intended
to keep in our memory the traditions and the collective memory of the people of our
municipality.
Framed by the philosophy of the Ecoparque de Trasmiera, which from its beginnings sought to give
value to our natural and cultural heritage and the traditions of a territory threatened by the
globalisation and the loss of identity.
It was precisely the renovation of the old schools as “Centro de Tradiciones
Salvador Hedilla, Observatorio de la Memoria”, one of the first actions of the Ecoparque
with one of the most relevant contents of the initial plan, since its proposal was founded on the
aim of bringing back to society of the late s.XX the memory of so many illustrious figures and
traditions that were the hallmark of the town of Castillo.
The book presented is a new tool for preserving our collective memory, and
within it history, traditions, trades, sports and celebrations are compiled, always represented by the
people who have been part of this rural society in permanent evolution.
