THE ECOPARQUE OF TRASMIERA FEATURED A BEAUTIFUL PRESENTATION OF ECOPARQUE 3.0

THE ECOPARQUE OF TRASMIERA PRESENTED IN FITUR ITS FUTURE MODEL: ECOPARQUE 3.0 TERRITORY VITAMIN.

After an excellent end to the year in which the Ecoparque was awarded the Horeca Prize 2022 and received confirmation of approval of the Tourism Sustainability Plan, Arnuero presented in FITUR a mature sustainable tourism model and a look ahead to a future in which a major leap in quality is intended, based on environmental preservation, energy efficiency and the development of an experiential world aimed at people’s well-being and enjoyment.
The Horeca Prize 2022 was a genuine boost to the responsible tourism model undertaken by the Arnuero Town Hall at the end of the 20th century, since it has meant recognition of this journey by one of the most important associations in the tourism sector, which has assessed the contribution of the Ecoparque of Trasmiera to the promotion of tourism in Cantabria and the expansion of its offering by providing an innovative and pioneering model for the management and exploitation of the territory’s natural and cultural resources.
On the other hand, the inclusion of Arnuero’s Tourism Sustainability Plan within the territorial plan for Cantabria approved by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism means an economic push to accelerate the projects proposed for the Ecoparque of the future, despite the final budget cut forcing the Town Hall to postpone some of the most important projects that were betting on that “Territory Vitamin” put forward by the Plan, such as the “Bath House” and the R&D&I projects linked to health treatments using the shell of crustaceans such as the lobster from Isla, in an innovative exercise in circular economy using local resources and reusing waste that currently constitutes a problem.
The presentation that the Ecoparque of Trasmiera team will give at FITUR will address the main lines of the strategy set out in the tourism sustainability plan, focused on enabling a balanced and responsible development of the municipality, both in its tourism activity and across the overall activity in the territory. Among them, the following priority areas can be highlighted:
– The creation of a Green Infrastructure Network that will gather together and interweave the set of unique environmental spaces, and which will be made up of dissuasive car parks, resting areas, a network of footpaths and the different interpretation spaces.
– Sustainable mobility, which supported by the aforementioned Green Network will decisively enhance vehicles with label 0, cycling and pedestrian mobility.
– Energy efficiency in the municipality, with a major investment to renew all facilities to promote low energy consumption.
– The digitalisation measures will seek to improve communication with residents and tourists so they can access resources and services, and intelligent systems will be established to improve flows and control capacity. Maintaining a clear limitation on the territory’s carrying capacity to improve the experience and prevent environmental deterioration.
– Improving facilities, accessibility and digitalisation of services on the Isla beaches, in line with maintaining and improving the quality of our sands.
– Finally, the modernisation of facilities and Ecoparque Centres will make it possible to expand the experiential offering, creating healthy environments for personal well-being, boosting the capabilities of cultural and nature-based leisure.

All the actions have been perfectly designed to work in the medium term on a “territory vitamin” in which leisure, ecology and health help enable the full recovery of people.
