The Isla Pepper Fair consolidates as a major event for the Ecoparque

More than 5,000 people attended the 11th Isla Market Garden and Pepper Agro-Fair, consolidating the event as one of the most important in the region in terms of the number of producers and artisans, visitors, and sales volume.

A fair marked by the early attendance of the public, who knew that the best produce from the market gardens and especially the best peppers are finished off in the first hours.

The presentation of this 11th edition was carried out on Thursday 14 September at the Casa de Mareas of the Ecoparque of Trasmiera, with the participation of Juan Bedia, President of the Hospitality Association, along with the Mayor of Arnuero, José Manuel Igual, and other officials and organisers.

After the institutional presentation, the presentation of the Isla pepper was carried out by the Chef of the Hotel Escuela Las Carolinas, Juan Manuel España, who, in addition to praising the properties of this product, presented a fair snack (pincho) with the pepper as the star.

The fair took place on Saturday 16 September with complete normality and good weather, which helped attract a large influx of visitors throughout the day. The Regional Councillor for Rural Development, Pablo Palencia, was also there. Alongside the presence of producers and artisans, the Organisation presented a range of activities for all audiences, with a children’s painting competition, a show of the Dances of Isla, chainsaw wood carving, guided tours of the market gardens, and a closing day of the fair with musical performances.

 

Another edition of the Isla Pepper Fair was shown to be a major event, in constant growth and with many new features each year, pointing towards the creation of a regional food and gastronomy event in conjunction with the new Costa de Cantabria Wine Fair, which is held one day later, and the Gastronomic Days supported by eight restaurants in the municipality, with menus of a very high standard.
