The magic of Christmas returns to Ecoparque for another year

Christmas is without a doubt one of the most eagerly awaited times of year by everyone, and the reason is that, as well as many people being able to enjoy a few days off, Christmas envelops us with its magic, its lights, its carols… an atmosphere of peace and happiness, unmatched by any other time of year. That is why every neighbourhood decorates its streets and parks, and town halls make an effort to offer their residents a range of activities related to Christmas that everyone in the local area can take part in, from the youngest to the oldest.

On this occasion, we present the Christmas festivities programme for Arnuero and its outlying districts. Arnuero Town Hall has paid particular attention to helping families reconcile work and family life by organising different events and activities for the youngest, making these holiday days even more fun, and also helping parents who have to work while the children are looked after and entertained.

The play centre will remain open from 26 December to 5 January, from 9:00 to 15:00, for children aged between 2 and 12 years old. Pre-registration will be essential by calling 942658522 or 659158230.

Holiday workshops and leisure activities for children aged 4 and over and for families will also be promoted, with the aim of energising the holiday period; on 27 December, from 17:00 to 19:30, there will be a Christmas decoration workshop; on 29 December at 17:00 there will be a story-telling session, and on 3 January a Christmas baking workshop from 17:00. In addition, between 22 and 29 December, other activities aimed more at a young public will be held, such as Air Hockey tournaments, table football or board games and Wii, activities that will be announced in good time.

And there can’t be Christmas without the Three Kings, which is why the municipality and its outlying districts will have a range of activities linked to this celebration.

In Arnuero, the visit by Their Majesties the Kings will take place on 5 January at the Parish Church of Our Lady of the Assumption at 17:30, where the children will be able to make their requests to the Three Kings, who will previously have visited the older people in the municipality at the Day Centre.

In Castillo, on 5 January, the traditional staged show “Nazareth Village” will be held, with the parade of the Three Kings of the East, which will set off from San Pedro Square at 18:30, and will end its route at the parish church, where there will be a reception for the youngest.

And in Isla, to welcome their Majesties the Three Kings of the East, inflatable castles will be installed on 5 January from 16:00 to 18:00 for the children who would like to go; this will be on Sable Beach, as long as the weather conditions allow it, and if not, they will be placed on the sports pitch. Later, around 18:30, everyone will be eagerly waiting on Sable Beach for the arrival of the Three Kings accompanied by their attendants, after a long journey. All attendees are encouraged to come dressed in Christmas outfits so they can accompany the procession on its route, which will visit the Isla nursing home for older people, and then continue to the church in the town, where it is expected they will arrive at around 20:30 to deliver the offering to the Christ Child and to enjoy the company of the Three Kings with sweets, hot chocolate and many surprises. Fireworks will round off the evening of the Kings.
